This winter season we had the enjoyment of linking up and coaching the ESA All Stars Team. They were a great group of kids to work with. Respectful, talented, humble and friendly. It was a great perspective for us to see how a large element such as the ESA All Stars Team, could work together with efficiency and in unification.
There were a lot of dedicated and hard working people behind the scenes that came together to make such an awesome experience happen. What a benefit and what a giant stepping stone for this next generation of east coast groms, to be able to come to Hawai`i at such young ages, and to lavishly partake in the waters where the sport of surfing was birthed. Not to mention, the privilege that the ESA All Stars got to work with one of Pipeline’s best ( Tamayo Perry ). Tamayo is regarded as one of Hawai`i’s most recognizable former professional surfers and the wealth of information he obtains in his field of expertise is priceless.
ESA All Stars having fun experiences in Hawaii
The team at OSE took the time to individually break down each ripper. We worked on technique, proper body kinetics, developing speed, flow, how the dynamics of waves work (aka: positioning), etiquette in the line-up, and we briefed over the proper surf board designs that they should be using here in Hawaii. Being that it was most of the kids first time here to Hawai`i, everyone was thrown into the frying pan as we like to call it. In considering the before said, the ESA All Stars performed exceptionally well. A lot of these kids have a bright future ahead of them and being that the competition’s here in Hawai`i have been known to launch surfing carers in to the stratosphere, these east coast groms definitely have a jump start on a lot of their fellow piers. I guess you can say that this trip to Hawai`i for these groms would constitute an O`ahu Surfing Experience of a lifetime.
The feed back we got from the students was tremendously positive. They received all of our education with an open mind and a thankful heart. This in return keeps us motivated to pass on our priceless knowledge to the next generation. We are especially pleased when our students such as the ESA All Stars receive our instruction and apply it instantly and thus in return, get results immediately. We here at OSE have invaluable wisdom pertaining to surfing techniques that will broaden the eyes and minds of our students.
ESA All Stars in Hawaii having experiences of a lifetime
A special Mahalo nui loa goes out to Jeanine Montgomery, Lenny Nichols, Michelle Burgoon Sommers, and Jo for helping to make this union happen. Great job ESA All Stars and A hui hou (until we meet again). The best two pieces of advice I could give: 1) The best surfer out there is the one having the most fun, and 2) Always remember… When life gives you a wave, ride it until the end!
To anyone still reading… God bless you and go surfing already!
If you have the fortune of being able to hook up with the crew at OSE , you will most likely have your Hawai’i experience of a life time. They offer with great certainty, the best and safest surfing lessons that you will ever have available to you.
