Aloha! Welcome to the legendary Burger and Sandwich restaurant from Hawaii. Are you wondering what ‘Kua ‘Aina’ means and how you say it?   Kua ‘Aina , or “Koo-a eye-na”, means “back country”, but is more often used to describe as country loving  in Hawaii. For native Hawaiians it can mean those who actively live Hawaiian culture and keep the spirit of the land alive.

A favourite of President Barack Obama when he’s back home. Terry Thompson’s lava-rock chargrilled burger and sandwich creations with homemade seasonings have become famous since he opened the original kua aina the best burgers on Hawaii’s famous North Shore   in 1975. Forty years on, his legendary burgers and succulent sandwiches are still wowing locals, surfers and visitors alike.

Wherever you visit us, you can be sure of our commitment to great food and great service. We use the best fresh ingredients that we can find, we make our marinades and seasonings from scratch and we cook everything to your order on our hot lava grills! Dot forget the avocado is the biggest portion you are ever going to get.
