Surfing Waikiki with surfers healing.

Last weekend, we at Oahu Surfing Experience had the honor of helping out with surfers healing  It truly was one of the best things we have ever participated in. Woke up early and made the trek from the North Shore to Waikiki. On the drive into town the weather appeared to be really cloudy with a chance of meatballs but once we got to our destination point in the heart of Waikiki, the weather cleared right up and it became a beautiful sunny day. The energy at this years event was positively awesome. It felt really good to help out and get these kids surfing. What was really cool, was seeing how happy and thankful the parents were to see their children experiencing the ocean on such a level.

There were so many volunteers out there. They did so much to help out and that doesn’t go unnoticed. So thank you to everyone that worked tirelessly to make this happen. Surfers Healing   are an amazing organization that seek to enhance the lives of children with autism through wave riding.

After experiencing the therapeutic qualities of surfing with their autistic son Isaiah, Izzy and wife Danielle founded Surfers Healing in 1999 as a way to spread the word. “Since then we take over 4,000 kids a year surfing,” says Izzy. “From Rhode Island to South Carolina, we go to Cabo, Puerto Rico, and back home in California.” “Isaiah’s made me into a person that is so different than the person that I used to be. Surfing is therapy for everybody,” says Izzy Paskowitz. Stated in surfers journal
