Bellow are just a few of Oahu Surfing Experience’s favorite Instagram picks for surfers to follow.
First there was Facebook… Then there was Instagram. How did Instagram come about some might be wondering? Well, like where most over night internet sensations seem to be created these days, Instagram was the brain child of two college kids living on campus. On October 6, 2010, Kevin Systrom signed into his Apple App Store control panel. “Here we go!”, he thought and with a click, Instagram , the photo-sharing app he’d created with Mike Krieger, was open to the world. Beta users had been signing up for access for weeks, and now, with them all on board and posting photos, buzz was building. Fast !
here at Oahu Surfing Experience we would like to share some of our favorite Instagramers with you:

Who is the most popular person on Instagram ? It makes us sick to our stomach, but Kim Kardashian. She’s holding down the number 1 slot with having nearly 27 million followers. Did I mention… In the famous words of Johnny ‘Boy’ Gomes, ” that really makes us sick to our stomach!”. Well anyway, enough about what we think. Just look for yourselves.
300 million people: Sharing Real Moments. That’s how many people use Instagram monthly, 300 million
The number of daily instagram users ~ 75 million

Who made the top 100 ?? The most popular Instagram picks for surfers on Instagram is ~ gopro at # 83 with 4,294,053 followers… but that’s not fare really to the everyday Joe, because GoPro is a corporation with a huge extreme team on board, submitting crazy images. Obviously sick none the less! Whats the deal with hash tags??? Instagram : Hashtags can be used to complement photos shared on Instagram and help you discover new accounts and pick up followers. Some hashtags were created specifically for Instagram photo challenges — #ThrowbackThursday, for example, encourages users to post retro photos. Vine uses hashtags in the same way — try accompanying each of your Vine videos with at least one hashtag to maximize shareability. Twitter is similar but a little different. On Twitter , the pound sign (or hash) turns any word or group of words that directly follow it into a searchable link. This allows you to organize content and track discussion topics based on those keywords. So, if you wanted to post about the # pipelinePro finale, you would include #pipelinePro in your tweet to join the conversation. Click on a hashtag to see all the posts that mention the subject in real time.
