It is that most wonderful time of the year again and easter holiday is in full swing. For some, it marks that moment for new beginnings  in ones life. For others, especially young, little others… it signifies the time of the year when a strange, egg laying rabbit that I believe walks on two legs, comes running out of the woods to dumbfound the nations kids by hiding what seems to be an infinite amount of freshly laid, colored easter eggs. Then this odd, mythological creature, as it becomes intwined with reality, magically sends kids at practically the same time all over the good ol’ U.S. of A to go on a scavenge hunt for the strangely colored eggs. These glowing oval spheres called ‘easter eggs’ that are being collected by America’s little people, are later traded in for baskets filled with toys and sweets. This annual activity is really fun for parents and kids alike and actually helps keep families bonded. So the question now looms; what does easter really mean to you?

Easter the best time of year

For us here at OSE , some may also think we believe in fairy tales of sorts, but I would like to think we do our best to look at life with a much greater appreciation and by doing it with a thankful heart. So here’s to the little things and especially thanks be to God for the most awesome of things; John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This time of year reminds us to appreciate and revere the greatest gift any loving Friend, Father and All Loving God could give to His intimately made creation… the gift of the breath of life. The gift of eternal life through the belief in the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, is truly mind boggling.   Easter to us, celebrates Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection from the dead. It is the most important holiday of the year for us, because it means death and the grave have been conquered and the  hope in the promise of eternal life is real. What greater being then one that lays down a life for a friend.

The other great gift given to mankind would be the gift of surfing. However, I might be a little biased on this topic… but extremely grateful none the less. So now my friends, if I haven’t already scared you away with all my creepy theology… here it goes; what ever you may be celebrating this time of year, do your best to at least appreciate the little things in your life that you may be over looking. Something as basic as going for a long over due surf or something as simple as telling a loved one, “I Love you!”. In fact, I will give it a try right now; I Love you all and I want God best for each and everyone of you. Happy easter from Oahu Surfing Experience !
